Hats, hats, hats, hats...

I've taken so many photos during my time in Colonial Williamsburg that I'm having trouble keeping up with them all. By posting these images I hope that you find them as much inspiration as I do.

Please note: Costume Symposium attendees were requested not to publish any photos taken of garments in their private collections or from collections we visited during the symposium, so all I am able to share with you today are reproductions that I saw during my visit in Colonial Williamsburg and photographed with my iPhone camera.

I don't know if you noticed, but a LOT of people are posting photos taken in the museum exhibits but not the collections in storage that we got the private tours from.

Yes, I'm sure we're all as equally frustrated that we can't share those gems. I'm so glad though that I can use them as inspiration for future projects. Did you see the extant 18th Century covered straw hat stored at the Costume Design Centre? Linda Beaumgarten let me take some photos of it.

No, I didn't go on that tour. I was in the Behind the Scenes tour with her at the museum.
I still have a ways to go before I can upload my photos but at least its just in an album and I don't need a lot of text. Probably won't get started on those till Monday. Oh, it's Linda BAUMGARTEN. Don't you hate that you can't edit anything on your comments?
