I'm attending the "Costume Accessories: Head to Toe" symposium sponsored by Colonial Williamsburg and the Costume Society of America this week and will be blogging as time permits. Unfortunately the photos I took yesterday are for private use only and cannot be shared on this blog.
I was fortunate to gain a place on the special tour to the Valentine Richmond History Centre, the Museum of Confederacy and the Wilton House Museum in Richmond. The last session of the day was a presentation by Mary M. Doering of accessories from her personal collection. Absolutely delightful! She shared items from the 17th - 20th Century including aprons, fans, headwear, purses, shoes and stockings.
